Kids of Delhi, India (May 12) : India has a population that is very young relative to many other countries. Here are some of some shots of the kids I saw during my trip. For the most part, they were shy at first, but then got really excited to see the image on the LCD. Enjoy these. Most of the images are from Old Delhi, with some from New Delhi. This is one of my favorite travel galleries.

Jama Masjid Mosque in Delhi, India (May 12) : After getting thoroughly lost on Chandni Chowk, we ended up in front of Jama Masjid (a mosque). Since it was in the guidebook, we decided to take a look and hang out. They wouldn't let us in until 5:30pm, when prayers ended, so we waited on the West steps for 45 mins. God is good. The light was perfect for capturing the colors of people on their way in to worship. The telephoto allowed me to keep my distance while shooting pictures. At 5:30pm, I paid for my cameras and me to go inside. I didn't wander much in the giant courtyard. Instead, I picked a spot near the East side, and sat while people fellowshipped after prayers. It was an awesome experience.

People in the streets of Delhi, India (May 12) : Another gallery of the people I saw in the streets of Delhi. Most of these were shot in Old Delhi. You could shoot photos there every day for a year and still want to shoot more.

People at Work in Delhi, India : Everywhere I turned in Old Delhi, there were people working. Vendors upon vendors were everywhere. Because I had so many photos to divvy up, I decided to just make a gallery of people at work... And I threw in some random stuff too...

Delhi, India - Buildings, Food, and Fun : When I travel, I'm most interested in taking photos of people. However, when you are among world landmarks, you have to shoot a few pix of buildings and sites. Here is a gallery of the non-people things I saw in Delhi.

Streets and People of Beijing (Jul 12) : On a trip to China this year, I decided to go a few days early and spend three days in Beijing. The smog was very thick and created a haze unlike anything I had seen. On the first day, we went to the Great Wall. It was a nice walk, but you couldn't get the enormity of it because of the smog. It did make for some nice B&W photos. We also visited the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square before getting caught in the worst rain Beijing had seen in decades. It turned out to be a mixed blessing. The next day, our last day, we had clear skies and sunny weather. We took a long walk before hopping the bullet train to Shanghai.

This is some of what I saw in Beijing.

Streets and People of Shanghai (Jul 12) : During a 5 day stay in Shanghai, I got out a few times. Sadly, a food bug grounded me for my last day, when I had planned to hit the Yuyuan Gardens market. Instead, I spent a few hours sitting on a bench in the park across from the Jing'an Temple. Turned out to be a great couple of hour people watching and shoot photos. What's going on with the models? We had a group dinner at M1nt and there happened to be a fashion show that night in the club. Since I had my camera handy....

Anyway, Shanghai could have been any major city. Very metropolitan and developed. I only saw a fraction of it.

Sights and fun of Beijing and Shanghai (Jul 12) : There are clearly a lot of things to see in China. Any culture that has developed over eons could take a lifetime to study. I had a week to visit (and no time to study). I tried to see as much as I could an shoot photos along the way. Here's what I saw in Beijing and Shanghai. Enjoy.

Interview with Shanghai Healing Home (Jul 12) : During my visit to Shanghai, I had a chance to visit a special place. As the news media in the US tries to scare the heck out of us when it comes to China, a lot of great stories get overlooked. Shanghai Healing Home is on of those stories. Started by a couple that was called by God to do work in China, it care for children that would otherwise be abandoned by society. Instead of just taking photos and writing boring captions, I decided to try and spread the word about Shanghai Healing Home. More importantly, I wanted to give them another chance to tell their story.

You can Google them for a lot more information. You can also visit their home page at: http://www.charitydreamshanghai.com/shh-main/ They can certainly use donations, help, and publicity as they continue to do the work they were called to do.

Read the gallery and learn the story. It is a story of obedience to God's calling - without needing to spend a few days in the belly of a whale.

Thanks to Cristina, James and the team at SHH for taking the time to answer my questions honestly and from the heart. This gallery is unlocked. Feel free to download the pictures and share the story. In fact, please do!
